PORT OF LOS ANGELES TO SHARE DRAFT WATERFRONT CONNECTIVITY PLAN FOR SAN PEDRO AT SEPT. 28 COMMUNITY MEETING
SAN PEDRO, Calif. – Sept. 14, 2023 – The Port of Los Angeles and SWA Group will hold a community meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 28 to present the recently released a Draft Waterfront Connectivity Plan for San Pedro.
The meeting will be held in the Board Hearing Room, located on the second floor of the Port’s administration building at 425 South Palos Verdes Street in San Pedro. Spanish translation service will be available.
Open to the public, the goal of the meeting is to provide a more detailed presentation of plan elements and to obtain additional public feedback. Port and SWA staff presented the draft plan at the Sept. 7 meeting of the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners.
Developed in conjunction with SWA, a leading landscape architecture, planning and urban design firm, the Port of Los Angeles released the draft plan on Sept. 1. The long-term planning and visioning document outlines strategies to better link Downtown San Pedro, surrounding neighborhoods and the larger region to the LA Waterfront.

When finalized later this year, the plan will help guide future Port improvements and private development, serve to enhance and expand public access to both active and passive attractions, and create transportation connections along the expansive waterfront area.
