About Breakbulk Statistics

The information presented on this website is provided free of charge. When sourcing this data, please credit the Port of Los Angeles.

Provided statistics include annual data of non-containerized bulk commodities, including recycled metal exports and steel and fruit imports.

Breakbulk cargo is an important part of port operations. The Port of Los Angeles handles steel products from Brazil, Korea and Japan. Recyclable steel scrap exports are used by steel mills overseas to make new steel products, utilizing resources more efficiently. Importing fresh fruit—grapes, stone fruit, kiwi and avocados—from Chile during the U.S. winter season provides produce all year long.
