Beatrice Hsu
Beatrice Hsu was appointed to the five-member Harbor Commission by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council on June 16, 2026.
 
A real estate executive and civic leader, Hsu is the founder and principal of BCH Group, a provider of independent advisory services in real estate strategy, investments and development. Her career has specialized in large scale urban infill residential, mixed-use and infrastructure development.
 
As executive vice president for Brookfield Properties, Hsu oversaw a $3 billion development pipeline throughout California and Hawaii. As senior vice president for Related California, she developed both Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)-financed affordable housing and market-driven residential mixed-use projects throughout Southern California. Her civic roles have included service as vice chair of Los Angeles Industrial Development Authority and as a member of Mayor Eric Garcetti’s transition team. She served for a decade as a board member and president of the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners, and as Interim CEO of Los Angeles World Airports, overseeing a 24/7 operation with $2 billion in annual revenues and a $30 billion Capital Improvement Program.
 
Hsu is a board director and founder of Builders Alliance, a non-profit organization established to accelerate home rebuilding and community recovery following the January 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. In addition, she is an independent director for James Campbell Company, a Hawaii-based, nationally diversified real estate company.
 
Hsu is a graduate of Yale University with a B.A. in political science and history, as well as a graduate of the CORO Fellowship in Public Affairs and USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate. She has been twice recognized by Bisnow as one of LA’s 50 Most Influential Women in Commercial Real Estate.
