KERRY M. CARTWRIGHT, P.E., P.Eng., GLS

Director of Goods Movement

Kerry Cartwright is the Director of Goods Movement for the Port of Los Angeles, a position he has held since in 2007. Prior to joining the Port of Los Angeles, Cartwright was the Director of Transportation Planning at the Port of Long Beach for more than 10 years. His duties and responsibilities include the planning and conceptual design of landside access improvements, regional transportation planning, funding, and transportation policy.

Cartwright has more than 30 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation planning. He currently serves on numerous regional, statewide, and federal transportation technical and policy committees, including the State of California’s Freight Advisory Committee; Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Policy Advisory Council; Coalition of America’s Gateways and Trade Corridors’ Board of Directors; American Association of Port Authorities’ and California Association of Port Authorities’ Freight Policy Committees, and Institute of Transportation Engineers Goods Movement Council. He is also a former harbor and planning commissioner for the City of Redondo Beach, Calif.

Cartwright is a past recipient of the Southern California Association of Governments’ “Regional Champion Award.” He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada, and is a registered traffic engineer in the State of California, registered professional engineer in Canada, and professional Global Logistics Specialist^®. He is also an instructor for the Global Logistics Specialist^® program at California State University, Long Beach.
