TIM CLARK
Director of Construction and Maintenance
Tim Clark is the Director of Construction and Maintenance for the Port of Los Angeles, the busiest container port in the nation.
In this role, he manages 315 employees and an annual budget that exceeds $50 million. The Construction and Maintenance Division, which is housed at Berth 161, provides 24-hour, seven-days-a week support for the maintenance, repair, alteration and reconstruction of Port-owned facilities and infrastructure. Staff assigned to this division possess skills in traditional crafts such as electrical services, plumbing, carpentry, vehicle and equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, roofing, painting, custodial services, event support, and gardening, as well as in more specialized fields such as the maintenance and repair of marine vessels, vessel operation, pile driving and heavy equipment operation.
Prior to his appointment in March 2017, he served as the Assistant Director of Construction and Maintenance for nine years. He began his career with the Port of Los Angeles in 2008 as Assistant Director of Construction and Maintenance.
Before joining the Port, he worked for APM Terminals at Pier 400 and with Ford Motor Company in Michigan.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Textiles from North Carolina State University, a Master in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico, and a Master of Science in Transportation and Engineering Management from California Maritime Academy.
