NORTHBOUND I-110/JOHN S GIBSON BOULEVARD ON-RAMP CLOSED THROUGH AUGUST 30
SAN PEDRO, Calif. — August 4, 2105 — Northbound Interstate-110 (NB I-110) / John S Gibson Blvd. on-ramp closure has been extended through August 30, as part of a major Port of Los Angeles interchange and roadway construction project in San Pedro.
During the construction period, NB I-110/John S Gibson Blvd. off-ramp will remain open, although there will be reduced traffic lanes in the area. After August 30, the on-ramp will be open to southbound John S Gibson Blvd. traffic only; after October 1, traffic will resume in both directions. Access gates to nearby West Basin Container Terminal are expected to remain open through October 1, when temporary closures will occur.
Please follow posted traffic detour signs accordingly. Alternate NB I-110 freeway access ramps in the Harbor area are:
- Front Street in San Pedro
- “C” Street in Wilmington
- Anaheim Street in Wilmington

The SR-47/I-110 project will widen the westbound connector to NB I-110 by adding a second lane that begins after the Vincent Thomas Bridge and extends beyond the John S. Gibson Boulevard off-ramp. Project elements also include bridge widening, ramp improvements, and adding bike lanes and soundwalls to John S. Gibson Blvd.
Construction is paid for through funding by the Port of Los Angeles, Federal Safe Accountable Flexible Efficient Transportation Equity Act (SAFETEA-LU), State of California Trade Corridor Improvement Fund (TCIF), and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) Prop C Funds.
