MARCEL VAN DIJK
Cargo Marketing Manager
Marcel van Dijk has served as Cargo Marketing Manager for the Port of Los Angeles since 2001. In this position, he is responsible for marketing, business development, and client relations with beneficial cargo owners and key individuals in logistics and supply chain management.
With a focus on bulk and breakbulk cargo handling, he serves as account manager for non-containerized terminals at the Port of Los Angeles. With his knowledge of agricultural trade, his goal is to develop the Port as a major gateway for dry and perishable produce. More than 1 million metric tons of perishable goods, including top products such as fruit, vegetables and protein, are handled through the Port of Los Angeles annually.
Prior to joining the Port of Los Angeles, van Dijk worked in the private sector for 15 years, spanning all phases of corporate management. His career in the United States started with Honeywell Transportation and Power Systems in 1997, where he was the after-sales business manager for the company’s turbocharger product line. Prior to Honeywell, he worked for Renault Cars in The Netherlands.
Van Dijk holds a bachelor’s degree from the Economic and Administrative College in Utrecht, Netherlands.
